North Korea

North Korea   The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)

North Korea is separated from South Korea by the most heavily militarized border in the world: the Korean Demilitarized zone. On the other side, it borders China.

Most of you probably already know about North Korea and some of the problems it's going through. So obviously, let's pray for those things. For those of you who don't, I'd highly recommend researching it (even those of you who think you do, as I did). Some of the links below might help.

A couple of things to pray for that I didn't know about before are water problems and human trafficking. According to cia.gov, water pollution and what goes with it are current environmental issues. As far as trafficking goes, while men are trafficked as well, "the most common form of trafficking involves North Korean women and girls who cross the border into China voluntarily; additionally, North Korean women and girls are lured out of North Korea to escape poor social and economic conditions by the promise of food, jobs, and freedom, only to be forced into prostitution, marriage, or exploitative labor arrangements once in China; within the country, North Koreans do not have a choice in the work the government assigns them and are not free to change jobs at will" - https://www.cia.gov/

However, while the people are desperately in need of prayer, we also need to pray for their leaders, especially Kim Jong-un, who has been in power for less than a year. Please pray for him. The Bible tells us to pray for our leaders and I cannot stress how important this is.

Also, on a more personal note, a friend of a friend feels a calling for North Korea and has suffered persecution from her own family for this. Please pray for her, her family, and that whole situation.

Thank you to all who are reading and joining in prayer. God bless!
